Project Specialist
The Project Specialist conducts the day-to-day oversight to plan, direct, or coordinate the activities on customer sites.
Essential Functions

Makes safety and environmental compliance an integral part of every task to include taking the proper steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises environmental compliance

Serves as the client's main contact and primary interface with EnviroServe daily

Maintain and manage the customer's hazardous materials and waste programs to minimize safety and compliance risks

Serves as point of contact regarding waste management issues

Conduct compliance audits of waste storage and staging areas, recordkeeping, training & H&S requirements and develop and direct corrective action plans for deficient areas

Develop and implement written programs such as SOPs, work instructions, and workflow

Prepare and present Business Reviews of the waste program

Coordinates activities of other personnel regarding environmental and waste related activities

Provides support for special projects

Trained in HAZWOPER and be available to respond to incidental/spill/leak/release by managing the containment, clean-up, and disposal of hazardous materials at customer location
Working Conditions

Timely and dependable attendance required.

Must be flexible to work outside normal business hours as needed.

Must be prepared to work flexible or extended hours in inclement weather conditions, including heat, cold, & humidity

Willingness to enter confined spaces, work from heights & occasionally perform tasks from boats.

Able to work as part of a team and independently, under minimal supervision.
Qualifications
-
5+ years relative field experience in Environmental Field or Industrial Services

Working Knowledge of applicable DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations preferred

Pass a Pre-Employment DOT Physical, Drug Screen and Alcohol testing

Pass a Pre-Employment Background Screening
-
Pass the Company's Auto Insurance Qualifiers
-
Pass the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training
-
Must be 21 years of age or older

Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and able to follow verbal and written i nstructions

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Finance preferred
-
Ability to work a rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
