Purpose: Lead and perform advanced checking of erection and mechanical drawings to ensure accuracy, provide mentorship to drafting staff, and recommend updates to drafting standards, contributing to the delivery of high-quality EFCO projects. Essential Functions:
Drawing Accuracy and Quality Control (30%):
Perform advanced checking and assembly of erection drawings for both custom and standard projects. Understands entire project and ensures designs meet EFCO’s standards for clarity, accuracy, and safety. Collaborate with engineers and drafting personnel to resolve design-related challenges. Apply technical skills and attention to details to maintain EFCO’s quality standards.
Training and Mentorship (30%):
Provide training to district drafters and checkers, fostering skill development and consistency in design practices. Develop updates to EFCO’s drafting and engineering guidelines. Collaborate with management to implement best practices and improve design efficiency. Use creativity to enhance workflows and uphold EFCO’s commitment to innovation. Recommend updates to training materials and promote continuous learning within the team. Demonstrate professionalism to align team development with EFCO’s integrity values.
Mechanical Drawing Review (15%):
Review and validate detailed mechanical drawings for manufacturing and warehouse applications. Use judgment to ensure accuracy, address inconsistencies, and align designs with EFCO’s innovation objectives.
Workflow Supervision (15%):
Serve as a backup to the Corporate Production Engineer to supervise and direct drafting workflow when needed. Work closely with engineering staff to ensure goals are met, productivity is maintained, and timelines are achieved. Enter equipment lists and make adjustments as required. Uphold EFCO’s integrity by ensuring tasks meet the highest standards. Apply organizational awareness to align team activities with EFCO’s strategic objectives.
Liaison and Troubleshooting (10%):
Serve as a key liaison with warehouse teams to troubleshoot assembly challenges and address project-specific concerns. Collaborate with District Engineers, Corporate Production Engineers, and management personnel to resolve issues effectively. Demonstrate service orientation to address challenges proactively while delivering super service to stakeholders.

Position Qualifications:
Education: An associate degree or equivalent is required
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of checking experience
Certification(s) and License(s):
Leadership: N/A
Computer Skills: Mechanical aptitude required.
Other Requirements: General construction knowledge and the ability to read and interpret blueprints are essential. The role demands mechanical aptitude for basic mathematical calculations, proficiency in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) software, and strong problem-solving and organizational skills. No travel is required.
