Purpose: Lead advanced drafting projects, producing highly detailed erection and mechanical drawings with minimal oversight. Solve complex design challenges, contribute to the development of EFCO’s drafting standards, and mentor junior team members to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to EFCO’s objectives. Essential Functions 

Erection Drawings (35%):
Develop complex erection drawings for custom and specialized projects, demonstrating expertise in formwork design and alignment with EFCO standards. Address unique design challenges independently, applying technical skills and judgment to maintain EFCO’s quality in every project.

Problem-Solving and Design Adjustments (25%):
Identify and resolve advanced design challenges, offering innovative solutions that align with customer requirements and EFCO standards. Apply creativity to overcome technical obstacles and enhance design outcomes, reinforcing EFCO’s commitment to innovation.

Project Coordination and Communication (15%):
Act as a central point of contact for project coordination between engineering, drafting, and district personnel. Ensure projects remain on schedule, and all stakeholders are informed of design updates. Use organizational awareness and professionalism to align teams and deliver super service.

Training and Support (15%):
Provide advanced training and mentorship to CAD Designer 1 and 2 team members. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment focused on skill development and technical excellence. Apply responsibilityto ensure consistency and accountability in team performance.

Standards Improvement (10%):
Lead initiatives to update and refine EFCO’s drafting and engineering standards. Actively contribute to process improvements that enhance design efficiency and quality. Apply development & follow throughto ensure successful implementation of updated standards.

Position Qualifications

Education: An associate degree or equivalent is required

Experience: minimum of 6 years of experience in drafting or other engineering-related positions

Leadership: N/A

Computer Skills: Mechanical aptitude required.

Other Requirements: General construction knowledge and the ability to read and interpret blueprints are essential. The role demands mechanical aptitude for basic mathematical calculations, proficiency in database systems, and advanced Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) skills. Experience with customer visits or job sites is preferred. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and PC skills are required.
