Fabrication Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Ridgewood is a subdivision of Ameriwood Home, a division of the Dorel Home segment of Dorel Industries, who specializes in domestically manufactured and imported RTA furniture sold through the brick & mortar sales channel throughout the United States and Canada.  Cornwall facility, we are searching for a:

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (2ND SHIFT - 3:30PM - 12:00PM)
 

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of a production line or specified production area or department in the Plant. Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The incumbent will be responsible for the health & safety of their team and development of skills.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises staff to produce manufactured products and organizes and monitors workflow.
• Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results.
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintains working relationship with union members and representatives by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required or a degree in related field, preferred.
• Minimum three to five years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment, required.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to multitask.
• Good practical experience with MS Office.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills٫ together with a results-driven approach.
