Job Summary:

A cloud manager is primarily responsible for an organization’s cloud computing architecture and services offerings. Their job responsibilities include building a secure set of cloud services for DISA, keeping track of cloud activities and costs, developing and moving applications to the cloud, and specifying cloud capacity demands. They also provide advice on how to deal with high-risk situations. It’s a senior-level position that necessitates a unique combination of technical, business, and interpersonal abilities.

 

Essential functions:

  • Develop a well informed and secure cloud architecture and services.  Act as the technical expert and product owner responsible for cloud service life cycle management.
  • Collaborate with application owners to identify applications and services that can be migrated to the cloud.  Develop a timeline and monitor the transition.
  • Stay abreast of cloud offerings including compute, network, storage, and applications.
  • Provision and manage cloud-based systems and services.
  • Accountable for managing projects related to the cloud.
  • Monitor the company’s cloud privacy and security in collaboration with IT security.
  • Identifies and solves complex problems potentially impacting the broader environment; creates methods to address current and future needs.
  • Respond to technical difficulties in a timely and competent manner.
  • Assist with infrastructure migration strategies, such as mass application transfers to the cloud.
  • Identify the best cloud architecture options to help the firm accomplish its strategic goals.
  • Translate project specific requirements into a cloud structure that meets those requirements while considering the project resource use, scalability, resiliency, security, and cost requirements.
  • Performs activities such as deployments, maintenance, monitoring, and management inside the cloud framework.
  • Ensure correct configuration to meet security requirements.
  • Provide training and assistance to all employees whose jobs need them to interact with cloud environments.
  • Track and model cloud resource consumption.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain automation tools to advance CI/CD principles.

 

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or software engineering, or information systems; MBA or other master’s level degree a plus
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, supporting, and managing Cloud platforms.
  • Proficient with Azure Cloud offerings.
  • A critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to engage, lead and drive vendors working closely with our vendor partners.
  • Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with senior management and executive roles for internal and external partners.
  • Extensive business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more cloud engineering, technology, and product domains.
  • Experience presenting and articulating solutions to prospective customers and Technology teams.
