The District Cash Application Analyst is part of a team that has overall responsibility for the prompt, accurate, and efficient application of AR GL transactions for each of the branch offices within the assigned districts.  This includes reviewing, posting, and verifying all customer cash activity - from multiple bank accounts - and authorized write offs are applied and properly reflected in the general ledger. There is also an administrative task support component to this role.  This position reports to Director of Credit & Collections.

Essential Functions: 

  • Completesdaily cash application process, assuring that payments are posted accurately including Retainage – as well as balancing daily cash receipts from multiple bank accounts.
    • Pull and post all lockbox, ACH/wire payments from the banking website.
    • Post all branch deposits and credit cards that are received.
    • Manage multi-divisional cash sheet for the two lockboxes, reconciling misdirected funds on the exception report.
    • Deposit checks into the bank using the check scanner or at local bank branch, as necessary.
    • Utilize the pay app tracker to ensure payments for pay applications are applied accurately.
    • Collaborates with individual divisions on missing or incomplete remittances.
  • Processes authorized write off requests accurately by necessary GL.
  • Coordinates with team for the timely Month-End Closing process
  • Supports Credit Dept with D365 customer account creations and mapping requests.
  • Prepares documents/files for audit requests as needed.
  • Assists with special projects and/or departmental tasks as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with cash application is required – preferably in a construction environment.
  • High-volume, multi-divisional portfolio experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Apps –especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work under pressure.
  • Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (collaborating, conflict resolution, negotiation).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in transformative initiatives (systems, processes, etc.).
  • Prior multi-ERP experience is required – with some Comsense experience ideal.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
