Position Overview

The Brand Analyst will play a critical role in driving the success of Community Coffee by analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activities. This role reports into our Insights team, however, will collaborate closely with our retail Brand & Innovation teams. This potion requires knowledge of and experience with CPG data sources.  The ideal candidate will be analytically savvy and curious, have strong project management skills, and a passion to serve with a continuous improvement orientation.

 

This role will assist the Brand team with the execution of branded activities such as national selling stories and sell sheets. Additionally, gain a deep understanding of the shoppers within various markets, to help guide brand strategies. Other responsibilities include tracking product launches, competitive war-gaming, assisting with channel strategies and execution, brand/product positioning, innovation mapping and more.

 


Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Performs high-level, in-depth business & category analyses using external data sources (IRI/Nielsen/ Numerator); provides conclusions and recommendations.
  • Utilizes consumer insights from various sources to help inform recommendations.
  • Tracks New Item and LTO performance.
  • Supplies and maintains data/insights for Sell Sheet, National Selling Stories and DSD sales programs.
  • Researches assigned category and product segments.
  • Identifies trends, growth opportunities or competitive threats and makes timely recommendations.
  • Understands demographic and psychographic nuances of shoppers throughout the south, by product segment.
  • Identifies opportunities for brand expansion, and market penetration.
  • Assists in the creation of best in class planogram recommendations.
  • Assists with merchandising ideas - identify upsell/cross sell opportunities.
  • Assists with the effective execution of marketing research needs.
  • May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from four-year College or university AND/OR
  • 2 years of related experience in the CPG industry; DSD experience a plus.
    • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
  • Must have used IRI, Nielsen, Numerator Insights or 84.51; and have experience with heavy data mining in Excel, reporting and providing actionable insights using those sources.
  • Must be Excel & PowerPoint proficient.
  • Results-oriented with strong written/oral communication skills and project management skills.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a dynamic and transformative environment.
  • Intellectually curious self-starter of high character and professional demeanor with positive, can-do attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license.
