Master Scheduler
Position Description:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining production schedules to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing processes. This role coordinates between departments, monitors resource availability, and ensures that materials, labor, and equipment are aligned to meet customer demands and production deadlines.
Position Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer demands, optimize resource utilization, and ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to forecast demand and plan production capacities.
- Monitor and adjust schedules to address changes in production priorities, resource availability, or unforeseen disruptions.
- Provide availability date on open customer orders and communicate feedback to order management team.
Inventory and Material Management
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components for production.
- Monitor inventory levels and suggest adjustments to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Document and investigate inventory adjustments, identify and eliminate root causes to maintain future inventory accuracy at a high level.
- Assist with new item set up and maintenance process, including Bill of Materials audits.
- Ensure alignment between workforce, equipment, and material availability to meet production goals.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, cycle times, and resource efficiency.
Position Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Skill Competencies
- Working knowledge of supply chain best practices and procedures.
- Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Applications
