Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse Supervisor
Position Description:
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of all incoming and outgoing shipments, along with warehouse organization. The supervisor will manage the shipping, receiving and material handling team, ensuring that all items are received, stored, and shipped in an organized and timely manner. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is key to inventory accuracy at the Loveland facility.
Position Responsibilities:
Shipping/Receiving
- Supervise employees involved in loading and unloading materials, checking invoices, pulling stock, operating material handling equipment, and other warehouse duties.
- Assist shipping/receiving personnel with material/product receipts and shipment requirements.
- Prepare cycle count schedules and ensure that inventory counts are completed regularly in a timely manner.
- Document and investigate inventory adjustments, identify and eliminate root causes to maintain future inventory accuracy at a high level.
- Investigate shipping/receiving discrepancies.
- Support excess and obsolete inventory scrap process.
Other Supervising Responsibilities
- Approve and track work hours and productivity. Manage timecards and PTO in HR system.
- Assist with internal/external corrective actions as needed.
- Focus on safety, adherence to safety policies, and continuous attention to housekeeping for the work area and facility.
- Maintain shipping and receiving records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Provide written and verbal instructions to improve the efficiency of shipping and receiving employees.
- Supervise compliance with company policies and standards.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education & Experience
- High school equivalency required. Associates degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping/receiving operations, with at least 5 years of shipping and receiving supervision experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Five or more years of experience working with production control, inventory control, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment and with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required. Experience with Epicor preferred.
Skill Competencies
- Experience of warehouse management.
- Working knowledge of supply chain best practices and procedures.
- Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
- Able to balance multiple responsibilities to multiple internal customers and prioritize them in order to meet required deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Applications
