The Digital Merchandise Manager will drive product alignment and execution for the Clarks Ecommerce platform and marketplaces. The Digital Merchandise Manager will be accountable for enhancing the online shopping experience driving profitable sales for the region.
The Digital Merchandise Manager sets the merchandising assortments for the region, fixating on consumer needs, leading with marketplace insights, and driving a holistic and segmented go-to-market strategy. The Digital Merchandise Manager unlocks opportunities based on deep consumer and marketplace knowledge
Main responsibility: create consumer-right assortments to achieve merchandising excellence.
What You'll Do
- Digital Merchandise Manager will work closely with Director of Merchandising and Digital commerce team, coordinating w/ merch planning to maximize revenues commercial performance, developing proper product offering for DTC and marketplaces.
- Responsible for marketplace style selection, work with planning with guidance on inventory need, & pricing. Analyse performance and adjusting strategies and assortments.
- Responsible for coordinating digital commerce initiatives and large stories and inventory investments, acting as point of touch for merchandising & planning.
- Collaborate with Ecommerce team and marketing team to align product with promotional strategies.
- Track commercial performance across entire digital ecosystem in real time. Partner with Merch planning to review style count & sku productivity targets, to promptly identify mismatches between current trend and budget/plan and other opportunities for optimization.
- Attend planner OTB meetings to better understand trending categories & inventory risks. Work with teams take consistent action (marketing, performance marketing, & VM) – featuring same product/category.
- Review and analyse full price and promotional selling including collabs, private sales, etc… to capitalize on commercial and financial opportunities.
- Driving internal review process and develop best practices, internal process as well as external communication flows with the broader organization.
- Create Merchandising Line Plans for Digital channels
- Present the merchandise strategy, supporting insights, assortment guidance and trading plans to pure play accounts during pre-lines.
- Maintain an understanding of local market and competitive dynamics, target consumer needs, and product trends.
- Be a consumerist: obsess the consumer and understand quickly new competitive trends
- Lead with the art and science of merchandising
- Be the marketplace expert as our Digital Merchandiser
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience in the development and implementation of product strategy, product development, material make ups and overall factory knowledge
- Buying, Merchandising, Planning or Product Management experience at a manager level in the Footwear business.
- Lead with the art and science of merchandising
- Digital experience
- Market Place experience
- Understanding of the footwear market - competitors, trends, distribution
- Knowledge of different business operating models – Retail, Franchise, Factory, eCom, Product, Finance, Supply Chain
- Ability to create an overall merchandising plan with SMART objectives and defined activities
- Ability to lead and influence others.
- Have product acumen and footwear experience.
- Negotiation skills to maximize the matrix resource of Clarks
- Organizational and Communication skills
- Experience in key distribution channels (wholesale experience is a plus).
- Comprehensive understanding of overall business operations
- Successful commercial management expertise
