In this role, you will be crucial in implementing Chromalloy’s EH&S strategy and shaping a culture of environmental, health and safety excellence throughout our organization.  You will coach site leaders and EH&S team members, develop and implement common policies, procedures, and programs, assess and report on EH&S performance in the region, and ensure the sustainment and sharing of corrective actions and best practices across the company.

The East Region EH&S Leader supports Chromalloy’s facilities in Florida (Tampa, Oldsmar, Fort Lauderdale), Georgia (Newnan, LaGrange), Connecticut (Windsor), and New York (Orangeburg).  It reports directly to the Vice President of EH&S, with matrix reporting to the East Region Vice President/General Manager.  This is a hybrid role, with the requirement to be co-located at one of our East Region facilities in Tampa, FL, Windsor, CT, or Orangeburg, NY and ability to travel 25-50% of the year.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the leader and subject matter expert in EH&S for the region, supported by the Corporate and Site teams.
  • Advise, implement and monitor progress and performance of strategic EH&S initiatives and common programs across the region.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our EH&S management system, including policies, procedures, and training.
  • Work with the sites to develop annual EH&S improvement plans, objectives and targets, inclusive of safety, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Complete monthly reporting of EH&S performance and key activities across the region.
  • Assess and audit sites in the implementation of regulatory compliance and company requirements, as well as overall risk assessment and reduction programs.
  • Monitor EH&S data to identify trends or emerging risks and lead cross-functional teams on improvement and mitigation projects. This may include working with site leaders, operations, engineering, facilities, human resources, quality, IT, legal, and continuous improvement.
  • Review and coach teams in the root cause corrective action investigations of injuries, compliance deviations, and high-risk near misses.
  • Support the professional development and staffing of EH&S team members at the sites.
  • Aid sites in the review of new programs, facility changes, and capital expenditures to ensure EH&S requirements are identified and implemented.
  • Support sites and ensure on time development and submittal of critical regulatory documents, such as permit applications, annual reports, or responses to compliance deviations.
  • Work with risk management to support the identification and limitation of loss prevention and physical security issues as they relate to EH&S.
  • Serve as a technical expert and champion the use and implementation of our corporate EHS software system (VelocityEHS).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science/engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or ISO 14001/45001 lead auditor are a plus.
  • 12+ years of demonstrated experience and expertise in implementing and maintaining EHS management systems.
  • Experience leading EH&S programs and teams for a site or multiple sites, including completing performance management and reviews, implementing strategic initiatives, auditing programs, and managing change.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable EH&S legal and regulatory requirements, and ability to coach and train others in EH&S requirements.
  • Familiarity with EHS software systems and proficiency in leveraging technology for compliance tracking, reporting, and data analysis/visualization.
  • Must be co-located at a regional facility, with the ability to travel 25-50% of time.
