We are looking for a highly trained and skilled Machinist IV to join our team. The Machinist IV is considered a subject-matter expert in many complex manufacturing skills and techniques. The incumbent develops and implements manufacturing methods, which meet the requirements and specifications outlined in travelers and assists the Engineering function to resolve difficult, first article, NPI projects, or exploratory manufacturing techniques.

- The Machinist IV has a broad machining foundational base and experience to support complex and difficult jobs.
- Supports technology development and NPI products to full production capability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely and efficiently set up and operate all common machine tools engine lathes.
- Can machine parts using horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses manually.
- Perform simple to complex machine setups with no assistance.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics.
- Solid working knowledge of machine tools/parts, set up, operation and maintenance.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Must be able to work independently, but also demonstrate an ability to work productively within the department team.
- Run diagnostics with machine shop team members of all levels to identify issues and training opportunities.
- Responsible for assisting in the training and certifying of machinist I, II, and III.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
10+ years experience with manual machines.
Aerospace industry required.
Training and development experience preferred).
Trade school education/certificate preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS
Machining certificates as equipment requires.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Microsoft packages.
