As a member of the Maintenance Team, the Senior Furnace Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing and leading PM and Repair on a variety of coating furnaces.
The Senior Furnace Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Site Leader, Maintenance and Facilities and be expected to:
- Possess expert level knowledge and understanding of furnace operation principals for, and experience performing repairs and maintenance on:
- Vacuum Furnaces
- Electric Coating Furnaces
- Gas Fired (Natural Gas/Hydrogen) Furnaces
- Heat Tint Furnaces
- Various smaller furnaces and ovens
- Fluoride Ion Cleaning Furnaces
- Possess expert troubleshooting capabilities.
- Have the knowledge and physical capability of manual tear down and rebuild of:
- Roughing Pumps
- Holding Pumps
- Booster Pumps
- Diffusion Pumps
- Understand control circuitry.
- Understand furnace controller and vacuum instrument programing.
- Understand PID manipulation.
- Possess the ability to accurately read and monitor furnace charts and related equipment.
- Possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings.
Additionally:
- Mentor and train Maintenance Technicians in furnace care, maintenance, and repair.
- Seek to improve PM task sets tailored to the furnaces on site based on age/condition to ensure Operations can maximize equipment productivity and avoid unplanned down time.
- Be proficient in the use of measurement and metering tools.
- Possess experience with and general knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Be proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Have the ability to work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations.
- Exhibit and maintain positive, solutions-oriented attitude toward work and co-workers.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under stress, despite numerous interruptions.
- Work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in assigned tasks on a consistent basis.
- Be able to maintain outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates.
- Have a team-oriented attitude and focus with strong ability to collaborate with others.
