Position Summary

 

Responsible for the daily administration, coordination and implementation of the project HSE management system. Functions as the lead HSE professional at the designated project or office location. Develop plans, organize and manage the HSE program for assigned projects. Interface with project and operations management, including (sub) contractors and client representatives. Provide management, direction and leadership that enable the project to achieve its HSE goals and objectives.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing implementation of CAM HSE Management System
  • Project start-up and readiness reviews
  • Planning development including HASAP’s and SPA’s
  • Training and education
  • Auditing and inspecting
  • Monitoring quality of HSE program and process tools implementation
  • JSIMS and Incident Reporting, investigations and recordkeeping
  • Recognition and rewards program development
  • Gap analysis of Client, Subcontractor with CAM HSE program elements
  • Risk assessments
  • Claims management
  • Turnaround support
  • First Aid/Medical/Emergency Services
  • PPE procurement
  • Subcontractor management
  • Site Security Program (where applicable)

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years Plant/Refinery construction / Maintenance / Turnaround experience
  • HSE Team lead / HSE management experience an asset
  • Clear proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, word, email, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with Union craft employees
  • WSIB Injury Claims management knowledge / proficiency
  • Industry HSE associations, affiliations and other resources
  • Degree – bachelor degree in safety or other relevant field of study; or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Professional designation (i.e. P.E. ASP or CSP) or meeting qualifications of a national or international certifying agency is preferred.
