The Breakdown:

The Global Events Manager will drive Burton’s internal and external event programs to foster a strong corporate culture and amplify the brand within snowboarding and purpose activities. This position will lead the execution of Burton's events within key marketing activations, working closely with key stakeholders and marketing teams to ensure the Burton brand shows up best-in-class. This position will also collaborate with managers in North America, China, Japan, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand, as well as the human resource and executive teams. 
 
The ideal candidate is high-energy, operationally strong, and an expert in project management. With a marketing mindset, this role integrates seamlessly into larger marketing and corporate initiatives while executing with precision.

What You Get to Do:

  • Internal / Corporate Events (30%)
    •    Design and execute internal event programs to strengthen Burton’s employee culture.
    •    Partner with HR and leadership teams to design events that drive participation and engagement.
    •    Manage internal activations that celebrate Burton’s legacy and promote employee well-being.
  • External / Snowboarding Culture Events (60%)
    •    Lead planning and execution of Burton-sponsored events, ensuring inclusive and diverse community engagement and alignment with marketing plans.
    •    Collaborate with regional marketing teams to execute local events that amplify Burton’s brand presence.
    •    Work with external agencies, vendors and partners to ensure smooth logistics, branding, and messaging.
    •    Drive snowboarding participation through experiential marketing activations and initiatives.
    •    Manage VIP experiences to foster goodwill and long-term relationships.
  • General Management & Strategy
    •    Develop and communicate a cohesive global event strategy in collaboration with marketing leadership and annual plans.
    •    Align and set KPIs for events and report on results to evaluate ROI and performance.
    •    Maintain an events calendar and ensure smooth coordination across global and regional teams.
    •    Oversee budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while delivering high-impact activations.
    •    Provide tools and templates for regional teams to implement local event strategies.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education experience is required. A focus in business, marketing, hospitality, event production or communication is encouraged.  
  • Management positions require 4 – 6 years of event management experience. 
  • True expertise in market value for event, negotiation tactics with agencies and contractors, and the highest level grasp of all that is going on in snowboarding and outdoor space. 
  • Finger on the pulse of snowboarding and outdoor space: candidate must be an expert in knowing event properties in the snowboarding and outdoor space. 
  • Experience with SAP, M3, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Applications is a must.

Work/Physical Environment: 

  • This position requires approximately 25% travel, including overnight and international trips. Must be available to work extended hours during events, including weekends and holidays.
  • This position requires prior work experience in Snowboarding/Outdoor industry.
  • 50%: This position is in a typical, stationary office setting. Over 80% of the day will be spent sitting in 1 location. 
  • 50%: This is a mobile position, which will require walking and standing on feet for a majority of the day. This position requires the ability to lift at least 70+lbs.

Our HQ is based in Burlington, Vermont. We will offer relocation assistance to move to Vermont to any candidate who is hired.
