Clinical Specialist - Cryo Nerve Block Therapy

Position summary
The Clinical Specialist position will be focused on the adoption of AtriCure’s Cryo Nerve Block Therapy for acute post-operative pain relief in cardiothoracic and other procedures involving the chest wall in an assigned geography. You assist in executing AtriCure’s business plan in this new therapy that creates awareness, advocacy, and routine adoption of the therapy; this includes prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales within an individual hospital and related departments or at the health system level. This role must be able to collaborate with adjacent sales teams and individuals within a designated geography to develop, train and support physicians’ and their staff on AtriCure’s Pain Management products. This position requires excellent organization, relationship management, teamwork, and strategic planning.

What will you be doing?
- Develop, implement, and execute a strategic business plan for a designated territory to achieve assigned objectives
- Continually identify new customers, contacts, and opportunities
- Increase penetration and adoption within existing accounts to build upon and grow the base business
- Identify and educate key health care professionals that manage post-operative pain in the hospital setting
- Manage and coordinate customer visits, educational programs, procedural observations, proctoring, and relevant tradeshow participation
- Form relationships with hospital administration to understand hospital dynamics; develop and present the value proposition of the therapy for administrative buy-in
- Conduct training for the Health Care Professionals and medical staff with modalities such as didactic and hands-on laboratory approaches
- Provide technical and clinical support during surgical procedures
- Make calls on Health Care Professionals and support staff as necessary to discuss AtriCure technology, training programs, and clinical programs and trials
- Work in a team environment with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.
- Collaborate with full-line Area Sales Directors and RSM to cross-functionally coordinate activities and targeting between the RSM and CTM
- Work closely with the Pain Management Therapy Development Manager to implement and execute strategies to achieve corporate objectives
- Responsible for satisfying the requirements for hospital account and credentialing processes
A Little About Yourself
- Health Science Degree or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills in English; Proficiency in another European language is a plus.
- Experience working in an Operating Room, Electrophysiology (EP) Lab or Catheterization lab either through industry or clinical setting preferred
- 2-3 years of sales experience in the Cardiothoracic field; Specific knowledge and selling or support experience related to post-operative pain management is preferred.
- Must have strong clinical and technical aptitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills - the candidate must enjoy and excel at personal relationship building
- Strong ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot in the field is advantageous.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to travel up to 60% within the UK, other European countries, and occasionally, the US.
