Position Summary:

The Data Protection and Compliance Specialist will provide broad support to the company’s compliance and privacy program on various projects. The compliance and privacy program includes but is not limited to anti-corruption, healthcare provider interactions, transparency reporting, promotion of medical devices and global privacy and data protection.

You will work closely with the department team members as well as other business functions to assist in the identification and solution of compliance and data privacy related issues. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of standard policies, procedures, processes and best practices across the organization to promote compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry guidance.
  • Monitor regional regulatory and legislative changes and compliance best practices throughout EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), APAC (Asia-Pacific), and LatAm (Latin America).
  • Support the development of AtriCure Global Data Privacy program, including keeping company’s processing register up to date, support the performance of data privacy impact assessment and DPIA’s, assistance with new initiatives that include the processing of personal data and tracking incoming inquiries related to Data Privacy.
  • Support several compliance initiatives, including monitoring of transparency disclosures and related legal requirements across the international markets and assisting in data collection for these requirements.
  • Execute the Healthcare Professionals (HCP) expenses monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Work on the development and implementation of compliance training to employees and third parties, compliance communications, ultimately being responsible for the administration and monitoring of the compliance awareness program.
  • Assist on the execution of the Sales Intermediary Compliance program.
  • Work on compliance issues of moderate complexity and exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Provide compliance and data privacy general guidance and support to internal business partners.
  • Provide general support to the compliance team as needed.
  • Responsible for measuring the compliance program, transposing metrics to the compliance dashboard
  • Assist the annual compliance reporting activities.

A little about yourself:

  • 3-4 years of experience working in a compliance, data privacy, legal or ethics department
  • Bachelor’s degree required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Attention to detail, well organized and able to manage time effectively
  • Proven ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to travel 10%
