Investment Analyst
Article Student Living is recruiting an Investment Analyst to provide underwriting and systematic support for new investments and developments in addition to Article's existing student housing portfolio. This opportunity is a great chance to learn and gain exposure to the entire life cycle of a student housing deal.

You will report to the Head of Strategy.
Responsibilities:

Perform underwriting analyses on new acquisition and development opportunities, including detailed cash flow modeling, return and waterfall projections under different equity and debt structures, and comps analysis

Prepare detailed presentations and investment packages for internal investment committees, board meetings, and equity partners

Assist acquisitions and development team in managing the deal underwriting and transaction process

Support asset managers in formulating annual business plans and asset strategies, creating hold and sell analyses, monitoring performance versus budget, and producing investor, financial, and lender reporting

Create pitchbooks and marketing materials for fundraising

Conduct and maintain in-depth market research of Article's target universities, including analysis of datasets, market tours, and secret shopping

Work across the organization to agree on pro-formas and budgets and ensure approved project and deal feasibility
Your Track Record:

Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, engineering, or another related field

1-2 years of real estate investment, development, brokerage, investment banking, or related experience

Proficiency in Excel (can perform complex functions) and PowerPoint and technical expertise with complex modeling
