Position: Principal Food Scientist
Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León
Summary:
- Contributes regionally to enable How to Win and Where to Play initiatives with specific focus on elevating Food Science capabilities and technologies related to the Sauces & Dressings product category. Leads product development projects and technical initiatives to develop new and optimized products for the NA S&D innovation pipeline. Align product & process design to our LRP aspirations focused on developing a nutritious and sustainable portfolio and support new markets creation and serve the underserved initiatives.
Major duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads product development projects and technical initiatives
- Aligns product & process design to our LRP aspirations focused on developing a nutritious and sustainable portfolio.
- Scientific and engineering principles in research, formula development, production technology, quality control, packaging, processing, shelf life and food applications.
- Project management / Financial basis applied to product costing/ Regulatory affairs & Food safety.
- Stage gate process.
- Mentoring and coaching on technical food ingredients and processing knowledge to junior R&D members.
- Understanding product performance requirements, shelf life implications, final consumption and use to deliver optimized product solutions.
Knowledge and Experience:
- BS in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry or related technical degree.
- Masters degree on Food science is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience within the food industry.
- Experience in R&D, QA, production & packaging, working directly with customers and manufacturing facilities is desirable.
- Experience in B2B and B2C models and category management.
- English level advanced.
