Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for our US-based team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for managing payroll processes across three payrolls, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all payroll-related functions. This is a hands-on role that will require both strategic oversight and day-to-day operational management. The Senior Payroll Manager will also have one direct report and will collaborate closely with internal teams and external providers.
What You Will Do
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for three payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Manage and develop one direct report, providing guidance and support in all payroll-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Partner with finance, HR, and external payroll providers to enhance payroll processes and resolve any issues.
- Manage payroll-related reporting, audits, and reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll tax filings, benefit deductions, and other statutory requirements.
- Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation in payroll functions.
- Support payroll-related inquiries from employees and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with legal and company requirements.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
- 8+ years payroll experience along with 3+ years supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in payroll management, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-country environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll systems and software, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize processes. Dayforce a plus and experience with system migrations are highly valued.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
