Senior Accountant

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Annapolis on a hybrid basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals with five or more years of experience who are eager to advance their career in accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position must meet tight deadlines in a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, audit and internal controls.

What You Will Work On

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
• Analyze financial data and identify trends to support business decisions.
• Collaborate and liaise with accounts receivable and accounts payable teams in support of accounting related issues.
• Ensure accurate project-based accounting and reporting.
• Prepare audit requests and liaise with auditors as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
• Handle other ad hoc accounting projects and duties as assigned.

What You Wil Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of accounting experience, preferably with software or technology experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (experience with NetSuite would be a plus).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
