Responsibilities & Expectations:

The Embedded Security Manager will be based in Los Angeles, CA, and will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive security program for a private family office, including but not limited to, residential security, executive protection while at home and abroad, and greater community security initiatives. This opportunity surpasses that of a basic executive protection manager, as it also includes founder-level opportunities to drive groundbreaking security initiatives in direct partnership with the principal, local government, and community leaders.


Duties:

  • Design, develop, and manage residential and field security programs, including global safety principles, policies, procedures, and training.
  • Implement a Security Risk Management (SRM) process to identify, assess, and manage security risks within the project portfolio, ensuring risks remain below acceptable thresholds.
  • Collaborate with local governments, community leaders, and law enforcement to establish and maintain an effective community safety program.
  • Execute and manage visionary plans that leverage technology and modern hardware to augment security teams and local law enforcement.
  • Employ strong emotional intelligence, empathy, and self awareness in all environments, including proactive and efficient communication with employees, executives, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage security protocols for field and travel teams, including location assessments, traveler briefings, and en-route monitoring.
  • Provide strategic goals, vision, and leadership for the internal security team, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Manage and supervise all personnel engaged in security services for residential and travel programs, as well as community outreach.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures for all security operations.
  • Undertake contingency planning and develop appropriate responses to various security situations.
  • Ensure all team members meet their training requirements, identifying new training opportunities as needed.
  • Comply with all local licensing, certification, and credentialing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping, data management, and reporting.
  • Handle billing, invoicing, and budget management for security operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for security staff, implement corrective action plans, and manage terminations when necessary.
  • Provide protection in a covert, low-profile manner, ensuring discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive information related to clients, security operations, or company data.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and consistent attendance, ensuring the highest level of service at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of security experience, with a focus on residential and field operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in an Operations Manager role, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • LEOSA or California CCW highly preferred
  • BSIS Guard Card/Exposed Carry
  • BLS/CPR Certifications or higher-level medical certifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to engage with local governments and community leaders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency with a broad range of technology and software, including but not limited to Apple iOS, MacOS, Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, and project management tools like Asana.
  • Ability to work independently, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and energy in various work environments.
