What You Will Accomplish Here…
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for providing overall management and leadership of an assigned department and/or group, including managing staff, planning, and evaluating day-to-day department activities. This position is also responsible for the overall accuracy and timeliness of all submissions, certification reports, transfers and archiving accomplished by the department.
This position will effectively support the QA team by focusing on the following:
- Ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of all work performed within the assigned group, including effectively balancing workloads, assigning tasks, monitoring, and reviewing all work performed for the duration of any assigned project.
- Understands all steps or procedures associated with the submission of packages from the moment it arrives at GLI from the manufacturer through when GLI issues approval letters and archives the result in the database; may also facilitate one or more these procedures.
- Oversees the efficiency of systems and tools, such as LetterGen or JIRA, if applicable.
- Develops operations processes and procedures to enhance efficiencies in the department.
- Handles escalated department questions or issues.
- Manages department personnel, which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, and performance evaluations.
- Assigns and allocates work in a manner that utilizes employees’ strengths to efficiently maintain operations.
- Educates all staff on the department’s process as it relates to their position.
- Sets clear goals by communicating job expectations, appraising work performance and consistently providing honest positive and negative feedback to employees.
- Provides employees with resources, training, and support necessary to complete work assignments.
- Consistently reviews, approves, and submits administrative work prior to established due dates.
- Provides updates on workload and personnel performance to upper management.
- Regularly documents employees’ performance using appropriate systems.
- Models’ behavior consistent with CORE values, setting the same expectations for his/her team.
- May function as a Reviewer as listed on the Product Certification organizational chart.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalency is required.
- Bachelors degree in business or Legal Assistant Certification is preferred.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related position, such as a QA Supervisor.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager is required for the Senior Manager role.
- Previous supervisory experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
- The ability to think strategically in navigating complex problems, processes, and projects is required.
- Must have the ability to maintain excellent time management, task planning, and prioritization skills.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing, with experience in collaborative decision-making across technology, sales, and customer teams.
- Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a realistic balance among priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide information and ideas in a clear, comprehensive, concise, and organized manner is required.
- Must have a strong ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
