Foam Fabricator B - 1st Shift

This is a 1st Shift role, the work schedule is: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm Eastern Time

SUMMARY

Performs a variety of set up and operation duties to ensure cushions fit container configurations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works from part drawings, bill of materials, assembly drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Maximizes stock usage.
• Performs activities necessary for layout of sub-component construction and assembly for a variety of first-time and repeat insert requirements. 
• Sets up and performs basic operations utilizing pressing equipment, bandsaw, and glue applicators. Selects stock and cuts sheet stock to proper dimensions and tolerances.
• Performs self-inspections on completed assemblies.
• Maintains established quality and quantity standards. Follows prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. 
• Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Maintains daily production Transactions in our ERP system and other records as required.
• Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS                                     

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of 1-2 years manufacturing experience.
• Ability to use a tape measure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with hot melt gluing applications.

• Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly  required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
